Canada's visitor visa (TRV) allows foreign nationals to enter Canada for tourism, family visits, or business. Citizens of visa-exempt countries need only an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) instead.

How to Apply

Determine if you need a TRV or eTA based on your nationality at canada.ca

Create an account on the IRCC online portal or gather paper application forms

Complete the visitor visa application form (IMM 5257) and travel information form

Pay the CAD $100 application fee online

Submit biometrics at a designated Visa Application Centre (VAC)

Provide supporting documents (passport, photos, financial proof, travel itinerary)

Wait for processing — check application status online

Receive visa decision — if approved, visa sticker placed in passport
